Yowza!
This is a composite picture of a giant sequoia named The President.
I had to stand way, way, way back to get it.
So yeah, it may seem to look fairly large. But it's not - it is huge!
To give it scale, you can see one guy at the bottom in a red jacket.
Another (brave) guy is standing on a branch, almost at the top, also in a red jacket.
It is 250 feet tall and 27 feet in diameter at the bottom.
But I think the most impressive thing is that it is 3,200 years old.
They know this because after they cut it down they counted the rings.
At least I'm pretty sure that's how they knew the age.

Oh Oh......
This iconic menswear store at the corner of Yonge & Bloor is closing.
After 114 years in business.
Since this is the last, beautiful (except for the recent third floor glass addition) building on any of the four corners (you can see the 65 storey "One Bloor" going up on the SE corner, and the two existing north towers in the pic below) of arguably Toronto's premier intersection.....
.....what could be coming next.....?
A Timmy's? Gas station?
Stay tuned. As I aimlessly wander the streets looking for clues..........

Yikes!......
Plastic surgery is not your friend......
And, of course, 30 years may also have something to do with it.
[Ed. Note: Uhhh......looked in the mirror lately UC? Or ever?]

Problem Solved!
A while back I posted a ditty about the new separated bike lanes on Sherbourne St in Toronto. Raised curbs would separate bikes from vehicles.A great idea, but opined about how long it would take before delivery vehicles would be jumping the curbs and blocking the bike lanes.
The answer was, of course, almost immediately.
So the city started to enforce no curb jumping. So was there yesterday, and the problem looks to be solved!
Just park on the sidewalk.
Why didn't I think of that?

Old Barn
The title of this pic from some website is "Old Barn".
But one of the comments below it was "Do. Not. Sneeze."
Somewhat more descriptive......

What Would Our Parents Say
From today's Real Estate Section. What a cute little house. Maybe Munchkins live there.
Maybe filthy rich Munchkins.
Almost a million bucks? For that?
I'm guessing Hobbits for this one. It's even cuter!
And it should bloody well should be, for almost three million!
Is that a typo?
Finally, something we can all afford, like something we grew up in.
$765,000? And this is in the boonies, TO-wise.
My old man would have bought this for $22,500 in 19 ought and 60.
I'm hoping the same thing happens with all these old record albums I'm hanging on to.
So far, not so good......

Understatement?
"Quite bad"?
A woman was killed and her injuries are described as "quite bad"?
This is not to make light of yesterday's death of a pedestrian, but more the inanity of the comments surrounding it.
The police said the dead woman's injuries were "quite bad". Why even have a police spokesman if this is all he can come up with.
I hope he's not the guy contacting her next of kin;
"Your mother was struck by a streetcar. Her injuries are quite bad."
"Oh, is her leg broken?"
"No. She's dead."
Okay, so I guess there's no tactful way to end this one.
Now, something that could be considered quite bad is this post.
Hmm.....I think the ending is now quite good.

Oh Oh!
Wow! Where did summer go?
And looks like it happened everywhere.
[To my buddy, Mike, who is coming for a visit - this is a joke!]
