Sports Photo Of The Year?

The situation:  Game 7, Toronto Raptors vs the Philadelphia 76'ers.  Game tied at 90.  4.2 seconds left.

The Raptor's Kawhi Leonard took a desperation shot at the buzzer over Philadelphia's 7 foot giant Joel Embiid.

It hit the rim and bounced.  4 times.

This photo is the instant before anybody knew whether the shot - to win the series - was good.

Leonard is the guy in white squatting, lower left.  Embiid is peering over the basket support, upper left.  The rest are the Raptor's bench.

This is an example where one picture is way more powerful than a video.  And certainly supports the old axiom, a picture is worth a thousand words.......

P.S. The shot was good.

Doris Day Gone

What a great picture.  Of Doris Day and Rock Hudson, relaxing in what seems like another age.

Classy and sexy.

Always projecting that girl-next-door, wholesome persona.  One of her former husbands quipped, "I knew her before she was a virgin."

She passed away today at 97.

No Wonder TTC Fare Are So High

Beautiful artwork like this doesn't come cheap.

Look at the attention to detail.

Those stones may have been hand laid.

Of course, they stole the idea by looking at the side of the Gardiner.  Where all great artwork is found.

Sometimes You're Just Lucky

Hiking in one of Toronto's ravines today and a huge tree had fallen across the trail.

Luckily, it snapped right at the trail.  And cleanly, too!

Gotta Love The Boys

With all the flooding in Eastern Canada going on, the government has brought in the military to assist with damage control.

Here, some of the boys in green are escorting a Zodiac through a flooded town. Through waist deep water.

I don't know, I might have said, Hey fella's, let's hop in the Zodiac.  Get there faster.

But that's just me.  I'm not in the military.
