Too Lazy To Work

There, I said it!

Sign seen not too far from my place last week.

All she's missing is the cute, little (starving) dog.

Sheesh.....

Succulent, Indeed!

Went on a walking tour of Downtown TO.

One of the stops was Allan Gardens.  A horticultural garden in what would be graciously described as a "high priority" neighbourhood.

Hence no one in their right mind goes there without police escort (although surprisingly enough many leave the area with a police escort) or large group of old people.

 We did the latter yesterday.

Tucked in the back, down a few long hallways, was a desert themed area.

An amazing variety of cacti and other succulents.  Scroll back up to see some.

This looks like some sea anemones out of the depths of the ocean.

With Mom lurking in the distance.

All shapes and sizes.  Some even looking quite rude.  According to some of our Tilley hatted crowd anyway....
Couldn't believe how many different varieties there were.

And this was only a sampling of them all.

Okay, too many to make comments about them all.

You're welcome....

And we ended the day on a little patio in the Gaybourhood.

It was also advertized as being quite succulent.

Not that's there's anything........

Still A Way To Go.....

During same trip out west last week, snapped a picture of the Calgary skyline.

From the airport hotel.  Wow, these iPhones are not too shabby.

So I guess no more "fog of life" shots for this blog.

But zooming in a bit, we see Calgary still has a way to go before matching some of Toronto's landmarks.

Toronto's CN Tower - some 35 years after construction - still, well, towers over the city.

The Calgary Tower?    Not so much.....

From their observation deck, you get a stiff next from looking up at all the buildings.

Ah well, this is why the Westerner's hate all us smug Torontonians.  Well, one of the reasons, anyway.

Okay.....

Was out west last week, in Kananaskis.  This is not something you necessarily want to see while out for a leisurely stroll.

But more importantly, do the bears know that they are supposed to stay on that side of the tape....?

Let's not wait to find out.

Okay, this is more like it. These guys are very tame.

Although they do have sharp noses.  And not in the good-sense-of-smell way either.

And something else we found out - deer don't like broccoli.

How do I know?  Some of the fellows at our meeting took out some items from our snack tray.

The pastries went over very well.  One guy offered up broccoli.  One deer took a sniff and poked him in the stomach.  With that sharp nose

As if to say "Are you kidding me?"  "Are you jerking me around?"

I hope he didn't put the broccoli back.  I don't like it either.....

Our Future Civil Servants!

Quebec students are on strike in Canada, protesting an increase in tutition fees.

They already pay the lowest fees in Canada.

When the fees increases are complete, they will still be paying the lowest tuition in Canada.

I just know all our future government employees will come to work with a great attitude.

I'm so proud......

Yes, They're Delicious!

Several of these activists were out on the street the last two days. Trying to shake people down for money.

To engage people in conversation, I heard them ask the couple walking in front of me "Do you like animals?"

They replied "Oh yes, we do!  But I'm so sorry, we are on our way to a meeting."

I'm surprised they didn't ask me anything.....

Coolest Bar You've Never Been To

Downstairs...

...before the show...

...at Massey Hall...

All the cool kids go there. But you have to know it's there.

And, of course, the best venue in Toronto to see a concert.
