Good News

Came across a good sign yesterday.

And that good sign is a good sign - that the good old El Mocambo is not going the way of the Dodo Bird.

This is the Palm Tree sign to which they are referring.

The El Mocambo is, of course, a famous bar in downtown Toronto.

None the more famous for an impromptu appearance by the good old Rolling Stones back in '77.

I think that is Maggie Trudeau (Captain Sunshine's Mom) in the second row.

... Have you know, I got up and sang "Satisfaction" and by special request "Emotional Rescue" with some cover band circa 1985 or WBB (Way Before Barb). Ask Billy White for details. Back in the day when smoking in bars was not an option but "highly" encouraged. Kids today would never put up with such lunacy. Certainly miss the Elmo and Grossman's for the pickled eggs and Export draft. Ah yes... followed by the worst farts ever !

Have you looked in on the new Maple Leaf Tavern at Gerrard and Pape? *Quite* a bit different from the one you probably had a few fights in many years back :-)

No I have not, sir, In fact, I don't think I even had one fight there!
