Doesn't have the same ring, does it.

But he gave it a good try.

The winner was an Italian - former American - and silver went to a real American. 

De Grasse had beaten the silver medalist in the qualifying round. In fact the American had to be one of the "lucky losers" to even make it to the finals.

Oh well, we'll get 'em next year.  Err,,next time.
