I believe the Israelis gave the Gazans, or more specifically residents of Gaza City, 24 hours to flee south.
That doesn't sound like much time to flee from one end of the country to the other.
Two, three days?
But how big is the Gaza Strip anyway?
Well, here's a map of Toronto.
From the northeast corner of Scarborough to the southwest end of Etobicoke it's 36 km's.
Here is the same map with the Gaza Strip superimposed on top.
So for fleeing, I guess if you actually had a car, it could take about half an hour.
In Toronto, at rush hour - which is every hour - it would take about an hour and a half.. And that's avoiding the 401.
Of course we rarely have to worry about getting shelled, shot or hitting a landmine.
I think I'd choose the Toronto commute... 😐
