Maybe We're Not So Bad

 ...see previous post for context.....

This is really scary to think about the next time you step on a plane.

From the article, the disabilities they are looking for "include:

  • hearing (total deafness in both ears),
  • vision (blind),
  • missing extremities,
  • partial paralysis,
  • complete paralysis,
  • epilepsy,
  • severe intellectual disability,
  • psychiatric disability and
  • dwarfism."

Yowza!

It gets better (or worse); The FAA states on its website how individuals with 'severe' mental and physical disabilities represent an under-represented segment of the federal workforce.

It goes on to state: Diversity is integral to achieving FAA's mission of ensuring safe and efficient travel across our nation and beyond.

Okay....not sure I see that......

One commentators said, "Do you want to fly in an airplane where they prioritized DEI hiring over your safety?"  It's too early to tell what caused the Boeing door plug to blow out, but that is what this commentator was referring to.

Other commentators had a field day with it.

But they're not (just) talking about pilots, but all the people responsible for keeping that plane - and all others around it- in the air.

What ever happened to those Sheltered Workshops, where my mom used to volunteer?  Maybe they weren't so bad.....

And, of course, Gary Larson had so many of these......
