50 years ago today Toronto Maple Leafs captain Darryl Sittler set an NHL scoring record that has not been broken since.
That's right - on February 7th 1976 he collected 10 points in a game against the hated Boston Bruins.
What was his secret....?
Like a lot of athletes Sittler was a creature of habit, especially with his pregame meal. So what was the secret meal allowing him able to score 10 points. Quarter chicken dinner!
His wife was not around to cook his dinner so he went to Swiss Chalet for his pregame meal. And the rest is history.
50 years later, that's still a great meal.
I've often said, what would be Canada's national dish? Poutine? Pancakes and maples syrup? Back bacon sandwich?
No contest - quarter chicken dinner!
