Same Old, Same Old

Another Argo game, another super crowd.

And this was celebrating the 30th anniversary of the 1983 Argo Grey Cup win, for crying out loud.  The first one in 31 years.

On the plus side, it was 80's night.

And the Argo cheerleaders dressed up like all my old girlfriends.

Are they looking at me?!

Not all was lost.

Okay, this wasn't at this game - way too many people in the stands.

Did I mention is was 80's night....?

This was like one, big 20 Minute Workout.

Yowza!

"......And A Diet Coke!"

Ahhhh.....our world renown Canadian cuisine.

The French/Italians/Greeks (add any country here) have nothing on us!

Tower Tragedy

A terrible tragedy at a condo under construction in downtown Toronto yesterday.

A worker fell off the top of this condo and plunged 55 floors to his death.

The condo, soon to be the tallest in Canada, is currently 70 stories high, but the wind caught him and he landed on the roof of the 15 story building across the street, on the back left in this photo.

He was apparently wearing a safety harness, but it failed.

Buskerfest was going on on Yonge St, next to the building (seen here, as the sliver/blue building on the right, farther south) but they luckily were unaware of the tragedy unfolding above them.

Danger is everywhere on the huge number of construction projects we have going on.

Home Alone - On The Other Side Of The Lake

Off to the other side.  To see what the weekend will have in store.

Anticipation was in the air.

View from the other side.

Not too shabby, Mr. P.

Okay, view from the other, other side of the lake.

Tiki Town.

Not too shabby either, Mr. & Mrs. G.

Staying with the theme, this is the other side of an earlier photo featured on a blog further up the dial.

Reproduced, below, for your viewing....uhhh.....for your viewing.  Let's leave it at that.

Your call.

But a beautiful weekend to be out on the lake.

On either side.
Some stunning shots of the sunset as the day progressed.  Did these guys spend all day on the lake?

No wonder no Home Alone games got played.

I'm sorry, one game was played.

It was called "What Could Possibly Go Wrong Here?"

"Here" being cutting down a 60 foot poplar, tucked between two houses (our host's and the fellow on the ladder).

"I bet if we did this, it would come down riiiiiight between them."

"Ohhhhhh.....hmmmmm.....and how much would you be willing to bet....?"

Apparently, multiple possibilities were floated, and we soon all lost interest.

So as day turned to evening, still calm turned to...well...

...the sweet sounds of rock and roll.

But don't just take my word for it.....

Now, as the evening wore on, we experienced a rare treat.  And I have obtained a bootleg copy of this very familiar group of musicians.  And their sound is...well....the sound is also very familiar.....

Oops....not the right clip.

But hey, you don't get that good by accident!

Okay, let's try that again.....

There is one more clip, but this post has gone on way too long.  And I can't remember where I'm going or where I've been.

So let's just burn the mutha down......

Great weekend, guys.

See ya next year.

Argo Nuts

It's always something at an Argo game.

Although, unfortunately for the Argos, that something is not usually fans.

However, here's a question;

.....after what age do you stop wearing the foam Argo helmet?

Apparently it's higher than I thought.

Although by the look of this guy's younger brother, holding his hat in his lap, the age should be about 12.

Luckily, I can comment on this because I've never done anything silly.

But you know, it's so easy to criticise other people.

Maybe that's what I'll do today.....

Darn Girls In Bikinis......

.....blocking my view of the ocean!

Well, lake anyway.   Lake Huron.

This looks kind of sci-fi.  Like they are about to be beamed up.  No fancy Photoshopping this either.

Or maybe it's the sign of a shaking hand?  Oops......

View of the sunset from from the same lake, from The Sunset House.  In Grand Bend.

We had almost as dramatic a sunset the night we were there.  But forgot my phone, so you will have to take my word for it.  And the Biebs was there, too.

Wow, wonder how much they paid for this rare Limited Edition print?

And with only 43,000 printed, they were lucky to get one.

Even if it was for the first game at Air Canada Centre.

And this is not just any Reggae Party......

And this is not just any Beer Bong kit......

I don't remember having a Bongzilla as a kid.

We had to make our fun the old fashioned way - stealing booze from your old man and drinking it in the garage.

Kids today.  Everything's so easy.......

This And That...

A round up from the past week.  A busy week, I may add.......

What the heck?  A business card for a pub?

And what the heck is a "fax"?

Ohhhhh.....

Must be a lot of solo guys at the bar.

Different pub.  But Mmmm.....mmmmmm.

I can feel the belch coming on already

(Name of pub is Bishop & Belcher.  I think I know which camp I am in)

Gotta love multiculturalism;  a British pub...........serving Asian wonton.....nachos.

Another pub.  With a good attitude.

Is that true?
And the Argos need to get a new home.

This was during the game.  Not before or after.  Although pictures would look similar.

Okay, and on the seventh day he rested......

Am I Missing Something?

Almost two million - for this?

Wow, there is someting seriously wrong with Toronto real estate prices.

My friend who grew up in this area will say Dad shoulda held on longer.

Prescription....For....Disaster

Boy on a hot day, I can go through those little Bud Lite Limes like popcorn.

Or drink them like water, I guess.

So a new flavour?  Why not....

Except...... 8%?

Yikes!

I wonder how many poor saps - besides me - will miss the fine print?

"Why am I lying on the ground?"

On The "Bieb Watch" - Part Deux

Day 2 of the hunt for the Biebs - for some people.

What a bunch of losers waiting and waiting to see him.

I was there for over two hours watching these fools waiting for him.

Sad that they don't have a life.

His Bieb'sness has a nice life though, staying at the Five Star Hazleton Hotel.

Even if he was seen spitting off his balcony yesterday.

Here's a pic, because some people said I was a little hard on the Bieber last night.

Regardless, today there were even wannabees staking out the back entrance.  Hoping for a glimpse.

And even the major media outlets were there today.

OMG!! He's in the limo!  He's in the limo!!

No you fools!  He's in the truck! He's in the truck! (That was my guess.)

Turns out, I wasn't far off.

A radio station said they actually smuggled him out in a blue recycling bin. (Should have finished the job.)

I was wrong - he's the delivery guy!

I know because he, like, totally walked right by me, you know.

And another concert tonight.

And another stake out tomorrow......

Oh well, at least one lucky guy got up close and personal!

Way to go, Mystery Man.....
