Locals say you never try to get in that way, from the south.
You only attempt it from the north. And now you know why.
Now the driver's buddy is out directing - and blocking - traffic on Yonge St. during rush hour.
Attached video shows some of the action - or lack of - as the driver tries to rock the truck from between that rock and the hard place. And his buddy patiently waves cars by and encourages him to back that big rig up.
The only action really is the bar manager as she makes funny faces at me.
I mean I only stopped in to ask what the problem was. Otherwise I'd never be in there, of course.

Must have been a boring day on Yonge Street. Far from Blog worthy. Suggest looking at the signs of summer on Yorkville's roof top. Where is the best outdoor café in Toronto anyway?
Yeah, slow news day. But feel to start your own, though.....
Best outdoor cafe? - you just watched a video of it!
I couldn't tell, was he trying to keep on driving forward or trying to back out? What was the final outcome? Did anyone really get angry? question, questions, questions ... was the beer cold?
Oh, he was stuck alright and was trying not to hit the concrete bollard (yellow thing guy in black T-shirt is looking at).
He was trying to back out because he was so close to that bollard. But he had no room to maneuver because the lane is so narrow.
Must have been there for an hour (video only showed the highlights!).
They gave up, but then came back, rolled the dice and freed him. I didn't see that part.
It's too true, Fin, sitting in a bar watching the silliest things can be so absorbing - why I saw six brilliant (sic) people sitting at a cafe in Spain slugging back sangria on a beautiful sunny day and mesmerized by the workings of those retractable bollards they have mostly in Europe. lol
