Mike & Tod - Day 12

So last day in the swamp.

They hope.

Decisions, decisions. Which way now?

Or as Yogi Berra suggested; when you come to a fork in the road, take it.

Although I suspect with this choice, one way leads you to greener pastures and the other - back to the swamp....

However, whenever a big decision has to be made, the smart money is on thinking it over at the office.

And at this spot, in addition to buckets of Florida's finest, today's special was $12 All-You-Can-Eat fresh catfish.

You have to really like catfish.

Although the lads covered over 110 clicks today to make it to the panhandle coast and the hardscrabble town of Panacea (somebody has a sense of humour).....

...it rained almost the entire time, so had to dry gear out.

And you may be wondering why the word "entire" was used earlier.

Correct.

Although this time it wasn't really tire trouble, but broken spoke trouble.

With, of course, no more spares. And this time in serious need of a bike shop.

But not here. So they decided to shut'er down for the day.

At this lovely roadside inn in beautiful downtown Panacea. Described by some, not as a dive, but more a fleabag.

A suggestion was made to go nowhere near, or under, the sheets.

Suggestion obviously heeded.

So zoom out, eh?

Okay, making the turn for home. Well, making a turn for a run along the Florida Panhandle anyway.

Let's see what tomorrow brings.
