Finally!
No mo' swamp.
Made it back to the Gulf.
The guys said best day of the trip - 135 km's.
Guess it's easier riding if you're not having to dodge possum 'n gator all over the place.
So to celebrate....?
Where else - an admitted early office break. The first of a few now that they're back in more familiar territory.
So made it all the way to Mexico Beach yesterday. Well into the Florida Panhandle now.
And Mike says the panhandle has definitely seen better days;
"No real pit falls but gotta say we were real lucky to get the last room here at the Governer Motel. Big joint.
Everything else so far on the gulf coast is for sale or run down, dilapidated, in ruins or blown away by whatever huricane."
Or for a different view of that.
And, of course, what day could be complete without.... Correct.
Same old same old spoke problem, again.
Tomorrow they're hoping to find a bike shop in Panama City - if they can limp it that far.
And I'm not sure if the beaches of Florida were the best place to prepare our World War II boys for Dieppe or Normandy.
"What the %$%^#$!!"
I think Newfoundland would have been a better choice.
And I really feel God is falling down on the job if he's thinking St. Joe is a good choice in the saint department.
And what would St. Joe's special talent be? Ensuring people wake up with hangovers?
"Please hear my plea, St. Joe - no mas!".
Mike winds up his correspondance with, and channeling a little Yoda;
"Beautiful beach. Spring break for the kids from Alibama and Georgia as well as Mississippi. Second floor balcony. Sound of the surf.
So real lucky we are.
Happy to acknowledge Big Joe."
So there ya go, Joe, looks like you have a standing invite down here....

Soo much nicer. Too bad about the decay...
Just saw Mike and Tod getting coffee at the Starbucks in Grayton Beach, Florida.
Very cool. Looks like they're stuck there for a while. Rain and Tod had another flat.
And are you sure that was "coffee"?
Big Joe (was a little slow) says "hey, hey mon... you keep peddlin' that ting! U be in Nawlins' soon!"
