Day 18 woke with the lads heading out from Mississippi to parts west.
Or east - I'm not sure which direction looked best to them at this stage.
Looks like they chose West, as they is now in Bayou country.
And office break country.
Here Mike is standing before what was once a house in Louisiana's coastal region.
Before Katrina.
What's left is the concrete foundation - seven years later.
Sites like this greeted them all along the highway.
And looks like they didn't break any budgets building the new homes either.
These are the smart, new Slimline models.
Okay, okay, this looks to be a cosmetic façade for a boat warehouse.
Regardless, looking at the devastation that still exists seven years gave them some serious sober second thought and reflection at the virtually limitless power of nature.
Or some not-so-sober thought, as another office break was in order not long after this.
So after much scurrying around as the sun was setting, the lads were not exactly sure where they ended up.
Bit of a sketchy area, they conceded, just outside of New Orleans.
But they were lucky enough to find an inn that matched the surroundings perfectly.
And they made sure their immediate surroundings were the four walls of their room.
Oh yeah, they had another flat.
Look back to earlier days to see what that looks like. I'm tired of posting those pics.
So tomorrow might give them an opportunity to use those shiny beads they've been lugging around the whole trip.
