Ouch!

 

Canada not doing too well on the Covid vaccine rollout front.

Last time we checked, a month ago, Canada was 13th in the world.  [Click to zoom in on chart.]

Now we are 42nd.   [Click again.]

Israel has done a magnificent job, vaccinating with military efficiency. 

I don't even know where Seychelles is, but they have also done a great job.  [Okay now I do.]

Seychelles is a tiny county in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Africa. Huh?

The United Arab Emirates is #3. Probably done through royal edict. 

The Brits are next (rule Britannia), then Maldives, followed by the Yanks. 

Then it's a long way down to the tiny country of Canada.

So 42nd place for a G7 nation is not very good.

What's even more embarrassing is that Canada is going to have to tap into the Covax supply.

What is Covax? 

Covax is a partnership between the WHO and two international groups whose goal is to send vaccines to developing countries. The majority of its funding has come from high-income countries.

Ouch again.

Okay, back to more important issues......

Pedicure Anyone...?

This is in follow up to the previous post about how bad is your job.

One of the pictures was of a Wolf Spider, and her babies.

So Moms often need a spa day.  So an alert reader sent Arnotti Thoughts a video of her friend...giving one a pedicure.

I guess this could also fall into the "How Bad Is Your Job" category, except this isn't his job.  He just likes doing it.

So this giant tarantula keeps this frog as a pet.

Insects often eat the tarantula's eggs, so she keeps the frog around to eat the insects.

And she keeps predators away from the frog.

At least that's the way it's supposed to work.

Until she gets a case of the munchies.....

Anyway, so a little social distancing and mask wearing is not the catastrophe we are making it out to be.

Welcome Back, Florida Woman!

About time that Florida Woman - or in this case women - got back in the game.

This dealt with trying to game the vaccine system.

In Florida you have to be over 65 to get vaccinated.  So two Florida Women dressed up as grannies to jump the queue.

They wore glasses, sweaters, bonnets and gloves.  But got nabbed before they got jabbed. 

Actually, they did get their first shot, remarkably, but got stopped coming back for #2.

Those gals look pretty young. Just makes you wonder who was manning the registration line the first time. 

But they are actually 33 and 43.

Maybe everything is not as obvious as it seems....

Also thought is was Florida Man, until I read the "snow" part.

Although looks like he now has some serious competition.

Gee, give me half the money and I'll come up with something almost as insightful.

Well here is one guy that is not an expert. Although he likely thought he was.

Balls This Big

So this Florida Man...... 

.......with his Florida girlfriend are accused of spending 7.2 million dollars in Covid paycheck protection program (PPP) funds to purchase a bunch of stuff.

PPP funds are supposed to help small businesses with payroll and operating costs during the coronavirus crisis.

Apparently he opened a company called Magnifico and said he had 441 employees with an average payroll of about $3,000,000.  So he applied for the PPP funds. 

Turns out he had zero employees.

So since he had no employees to pay, he (allegedly) bought a Maserati, an $89,000 Lincoln Navigator a $250,000 Mercedes Benz and a 3.1 million dollar home. 

Experts say he's going to jail.
