It Seemed Like A Good Idea

A novel, one person car designed in BC seemed like a cool idea.

A three wheeler, electric and modestly priced at just under $20,000.

Built the first few by hand and then outsourced production to China and then merged with a US company in Arizona to produce the ElectroMechanica solo, EV 3 wheeler.

Of course by now the price had increased, and production problems arose and you can only drive 160 km's.

And oh, then they kept stopping for no reason.

The result......

A pile of them in an Arizona scrap yard.

All 429 of them.

Oh well.

A good idea, until it wasn't.

That Didn't Take Long

...for them to demolish 606 Dundas St.

After the top half was caught leaning out om to the sidewalk this week.

Apparently, this building had been deemed a danger for 10 years.

And Multiple people were living on the upper floor apartments.

I wonder if any property owner or city inspector will be held responsible for this near catastrophe?

I know the answer - no and no one.

Watch That Wall.....

606 Dundas St West yesterday...

606 Dundas St West today...

"I'm falling down and won't be able to get back up."

Contractors across the street noticed this building was starting to "lean in".

The entire block was evacuated and now they have to figure out what to do with it.

Let's see what it looks like....tomorrow.......

In fact, I've already completed them.

And....

Who Are These Guys?

Well, just all the living Toronto Maple Leaf captains.  [My favourite, #14, Davey Keon, second from left]

Wow, from the time I was in knee britches (and before) to almost now on crutches, these are all the captains that I cheered for and lived and died with.

Hoping they would bring Toronto a Stanley Cup.

So these are all the living captains except one.

The newest one.....

,,,,,Who will BRING TORONTO A STANLEY CUP!

Can't wait!!

Now That's Justice

This poor little six year old boy died after being forced to run on a treadmill as a form of punishment by his father.

The little boy kept falling off the treadmill but the father kept increasing the speed.

He repeatedly was thrown from the device over and over again.

A week later he went into convulsions and became limp.

The father took him to the hospital, where he died.  Father said he had a virus.

Autopsy said the little guy died of blunt force trauma.

Last week the father was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

I bet if this was in Canada he might get 10, out in 3.

So he was a real tough guy, badgering his defenceless six year old.

But here is the face of that sniveling father as he hears his sentence.

But this is the face to remember.....

Olympic Medals

So here is the current count of the total medals won by country for the 2024 Paris Olympics. [Click on the chart to get better view.]

The US is at the top.  With 103 total medals.

But Canada is doing pretty well, at 11th place with 22 medals.

But, hey,  we are a small country.  How about medals won per population?

I bet we'd be near the top of the heap!

So here is Medals won per million population.....

What?!

We are doing even worse - 14th place.

And look at al those little - and some not so little - countries ahead of us.

Yikes!

So uhhhh....never mind.....
