One Of Today's "Newer Songs"

So yesterday we featured a Lawrence Welk clip of a young couple singing a "newer song" that I'm sure neither Lawrence Welk or the producer or the singers had any idea what it was about.

Let's fast  forward 50 years to see what boundaries today's newer songs push.

Let's look at the song National Public Radio (NPR) deemed the best song of 2020.

Turns out it is the Cardi B song WAP, featuring Megan Thee Stallion.

So has anything changed in 50 years?  Let's see.

Since this is a family blog, we won't paly the video but just post the lyrics.

And in case you're wondering what WAP means, wonder no longer...

Wow.  So this was the best song of 2020.  That's several tokes over the line.

So empowering for all of today's young girls.

Has anything changed in 50 years?

Oh for the simpler times......

I kinda understand why you'd know so much about Lawrence Welk but the interest in Cardi B is surprising. Good on you!!!
