$23?!     Early Bird?

I'd expect an Early Bird parking rate to be something more like five bucks.

Not $23!

But I guess that's Calgary. It has the most expensive parking in Canada at $472/month and second in North America, behind only New York at $541.

Toronto is a real bargoon at only $332/month.

But we are all pikers compared to the rest of the world.

London leads the way at $1,083/month, with no North American even cracking the top ten.

Now, if Canada had London's rate, all sorts of people would be crying about "no affordable parking" and the government would be forced to step in and subsidize it.

Which, once parking owners know the government starts to subsidize stuff, will increase prices even more.

So then the government must kick in more. Vicious cycle...

[Ed note: Okay, get off your soap box.]
