Mike & Tod- Day 22

Day 22 saw the boys zig back into Mississippi.

Although look back fondly on their memories of Louisiana.

And I guess they could zag right back there if they wanted to - all along the way.

A lonely look down the mighty Mississip.

Where they too a little trip.

They took a little bacon and took a little beans.
And they caught the bloody British in the town of New Orleans!

I think they only caught a Bloody Mary.

[Ed. note: That's enough.]

Okay, but this is a pretty cool area.

Since these boys may be heading for Nashville, it looks like they are on the right road.

Riding the Blues Highway.

And with the hot muggy, buggy conditions, Mike said they had 'em! All day....

I think the quality of the lad's cameras adds to the mystery of the area.

And they made it to Natchez, Mississippi by the end of it all.

90 clicks of hard pedalling.

More proof....

With the river ever present, a view of it from town.

Now last night, our boys came up empty in the motel department.

Well not tonight!

Swimming pool. Movie Stars.

Sorry, old post.

Okay, so no movie stars.....

But this town is steeped in history.

Like everything else in the entire area. Memories of a time long past.

This is the civil War flag that was draped over Ulysses S Grant's coffin.

[And this is where you get the answer to the age old question "Who's buried in Grant's tomb?]

Well they checked!

And this flag and note was in their hotel lobby.

Not too shabby.

Actually, very shabby, but that's what a few musket bullets can do to a 150 year old flag.

And the man, himself....

That's him....uhhhh....in the picture there.

And with any great hotel, you have yer in-room service.

Sooie!! As they say down here.

Things are looking up. Keep giving' 'er, boys...
