Mike & Tod - Day 7 (Whew....)

Wow, another great day for biking. And the fellows are almost to the Big Apple. They crossed over the Hudson River on the Tappan Zee Bridge (didn't Paul Revere do the same thing), during rush hour no less.

But first they had a great day cycling through the valleys and woods of the Hudson River.

And they came across some shy but friendly forest people, who came right up to them....

....oh sorry, that's Tod.

Mike asked if you can read what is on this sign.

If you shot in slightly better resolution than through a beer bottle we might be able to. But considering my previous fog-of-life camera, I guess that's really the pot calling the kettle black. Sorry.....

Unfortunately, Tod tweaked a knee today, so the boys didn't make it as far as usual.

But...almost to New York City. Just a quick ride through Yonkers, the Bronx, Harlem and Manhattan and...they'll be easy pickings for muggers, scammers and ne'er-do-wells.

The guys never crossed the Tappan Zee Bridge (no bikes or pedestrians on that one), and headed south along Rte 9W. I met them in Tallman Mountain SP and directed them to our basement in Northvale, where we had a great chat, 6-pack of beer, bottle of wine, and spaghetti meal. We woke up next morning after they'd left, and when I discovered this blog they already had reached Florida. Good going! Gely and Jakob.

Hey, Jakob, you're right. And Mike says "hi" and "thanks" from Florida.
